Will IT&E's GSM network have islandwide coverage?
IT&E's GSM network currently covers highly populated areas and major road ways, primarily in northern and central regions of Guam
- IT&E has implemented plans to extend coverage in the southern region of Guam
Will I need a GSM phone to use IT&E's GSM network?
- If you own a 1900Mhz GSM phone:
- Visit IT&E to activate GSM service and purchase a SIM card
- If you don't have a 1900Mhz GSM phone:
- Visit IT&E to select from various GSM phones
- If you own an IT&E CDMA phone,
- Visit IT&E to purchase a GSM phone via our Add-A-Phone plan
- Airtime minutes on CDMA and GSM may be shared
- Having GSM and CDMA gives you greater flexibility to meet your telecommunication needs
Will I be able to use my IT&E SIM Card with any GSM handset?
- Three requirements must be met for the GSM handset to work with an IT&E SIM Card. The handset:
- Must have a 1900Mhz band
- Is not locked
- SIM card is active

What is the cost for IT&E's SIM Card?
- New activations are $15.00
- Reactivations and SIM replacements are $10.00
- Prepaid SIMs are $39.95 with $20.00 load
If I am a current IT&E PCS CDMA customer, what price will be offered towards the purchase of an IT&E GSM unit?
- If you are an IT&E customer and have an existing PCS CDMA handset term contract with an Early Cancellation Penalty (ECP), you can purchase a GSM unit @ the 24 month price provided you sign a new 24-month handset term (Note: $150.00 handset ECP will be added to the current handset ECP).
Can I keep my existing IT&E service plan & PCS number?
- Yes, customers will be able to use their existing CDMA plan and number.
Will I be able to send and receive text messages to persons on other subscriber networks?
- Provided your handset is fully SMS capable, IT&E's GSM network provides you the flexibility to send and receive SMS text messages to subscribers outside IT&E's GSM network
What is GPRS?
- IT&E's GSM network comes equipped with General Packet Radio Service (GPRS), which enables you to access data services (such as the internet) from your GSM mobile handset
- GPRS provides speeds comparable to dial up (40K) on a home computer and allows you to send and receive pictures and sound from your handset.
- GPRS is dependent on the features available on the GSM mobile phone handset
Can I roam with my IT&E GSM handset?
- Currently, IT&E is establishing agreements with other telecom providers, so IT&E GSM roaming service will be introduced at a later date.
- Until roaming service is available, simply purchase and insert a SIM (that is compatible with your 1900Mhz unit) from a GSM provider at your off-island location (NOTE: charges are specific to that service provider)
