"I can't seem to login to Talaya. What is wrong?"
If you have Windows 95 and are using the 32-bit version of
Netscape that you either received from IT&E or downloaded,
you will be using Dial-Up Networking to establish your connection
to the Internet.
After double-clicking on the dialer
icon...
The following window will appear:

Please verify that the ".ppp"
has been added to the end of your username. You
will also need to verify that your password has
been entered in all lower-case letters. If you
are dialing from a phone system that requires
you to dial a certain number before dialing out
(like 9). You will need to select Dial Properties...
and reconfigure the dialer manually (see below).
If you still have trouble connecting to Talaya,
call Tech Support at 646-INET (4638).
Reconfiguring
Your Dialer
To reconfigure the dialing settings
for the Talaya dialer through Dial-Up Networking,
select Dial Properties... from the Connect To
menu. The following window comes up:
Please verify that the area code
listed is 671, and that the field "I am in:"
is set to Guam. If you have to dial a number before
connecting to an outside line, like in an office,
then enter this number in the box entitled "To
access an outside line, first dial:" If you
have call waiting, check the box titled "This
location has call waiting. To disable it, dial:"
Lastly, click on the radio button that reads Tone
dialing.
Click on OK at the bottom of the
window. This will take you back to the main dialing
window. Click on Connect and your modem should
dial and connect to Talaya. When connected, double-click
on the Netscape icon, and you will be connected
onto the Internet.
