IT&E Swinging Into Full Gear to Host Its 2007 Baseball Clinic Featuring Guam's Very Own, MLB Slugger, John Hattig Jr.
It’s that time of the year to start sharpening your child’s skills for the upcoming baseball season, but your kids do not have to do it alone. IT&E, with the expert assistance from John Hattig Jr. (JR), Guam’s first professional Major League Baseball player, will host a one-day Youth Baseball Clinic on Saturday, January 20, to demonstrate and provide instruction on the fundamentals and techniques of fielding, base running and hitting.
The 2007 IT&E Baseball Clinic, featuring John Hattig Jr., will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2007 at the Leo Palace Resort from 8am-12pm for youth between the ages of 5-12 years old.
“This year’s clinic will be the second I have done with the sponsorship and full support of IT&E, and I’m expecting to see a great turnout, especially, since returning from the mainland, I’ve had many requests to hold another clinic. It’s a great feeling to work with IT&E, who is always ready to give back to the community, especially our youth.” Hattig said. “My hope is that, by reaching out to our youth, we will see more of Guam’s athletes develop their skills, not only for competition at the local level, but to compete on the national stage as well.”
Registration starts on January 10 and will end on Thursday, January 18. Registration forms are available at all IT&E Offices, and completed registration forms and payments will be accepted at the IT&E Customer Service Center in Harmon Industrial Park and Sinajana. Registration Fees are as follows: $25/Participant; $35/Two Participants; $50/Up to Four Participants. Participants must register with a parent or legal guardian. Space is limited to the first 100 participants. All proceeds will benefit the Guam baseball community.
“Throughout the years, IT&E has been a loyal supporter of community and sporting events,” said John M. Borlas, President of IT&E. “With JR (Hattig) back home during his off-season, we felt it was important to provide our young athletes with a unique and fun experience by meeting and learning from a professional baseball player.”
