As Guam residents and government agencies work
to clean up debris and assess damages, IT&E hopes that
the donation of the Wireless phones will help keep officials
and volunteers
in constant contact.
“
With power, water and other such utilities down, we want
to do what we can during this recovery process by keeping
communications lines open,” said IT&E General Manager
Joseph J. Perez, “Now that the storm has passed, communication
is the key to a speedy recovery.”
IT&E chose to
donate the Wireless phones to the American Red Cross and
People Helping People because of their efforts
to aid the people of Guam and the Mayors Council to aid in
village restoration.
“
We are very concerned with relief efforts for individuals
and their families. That being the case, we felt that our
services could be better used by organizations like the Red
Cross and People Helping People. Now more than ever we need
to support each other to get through this time,” Perez
said.
