IT&E's
goal since its inception in 1979 has been to provide service
that is responsive to customer needs, reliable, and affordable
with an emphasis on quality through the use of state-of
the-art equipment.
I am happy to say that IT&E has met this commitment
and will continue to do so. IT&E has responded to
challenges of the tremendous growth in demand for telecommunications
equipment and long distance services through increased
capital investments in facilities and inventory, organizational
restructuring, and increased manpower resources and training.
The most significant of IT&E capital investments
over the recent years has been the strengthening of its
long distance telecommunications infrastructure which
is described in this report.
IT&E has also been successful in securing correspondent
agreements with three major international carriers: AT&T,
KDD, and PLDT, each of which plays an important role
in providing effective telecommunications services in
our region.
Through effective planning and management, IT&E
has maintained its leadership role in providing services
at the lowest possible cost for maximum savings to our
customers. The introduction of innovative services remains
a priority on IT&E's service agenda.
It is with unqualified optimism that IT&E is here
to stay, and will continue to play a major role in Guam's
telecommunications future.
